Have you ever had someone bring you a bottle of wine when you’ve invited them for dinner? If so, wouldn’t it be nice to send them a pretty wine thank you card. Well, that’s what this card is all about.
I invited my very good friend Kathy to dinner and she brought a couple bottles of wine so I created this card to thank her for her generosity. But, before I get into the card, I wanted to show you the beautiful wine tags she made for each bottle.
Aren’t these beautiful? My girlfriend Kathy is very talented and does an amazing job with cards, tags, gift bags and boxes. These tags were made with the Petal Pair Embossing Folders, the Pearlized Doilies, the Half Full Stamp Set, Circle punch, Stitched Shapes and Layering Oval Framelits. I love, love, love these tags. Great job Kathy!!!
The two stamp sets I used to to create the thank you card are: Half Full and Thankful Thoughts.
The card base is Night of Navy and I chose the new Soft Sea Foam for the layer and embossed it with the elegant Subtle Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I then added a layer of Gorgeous Grape, Gold Foil and Whisper White. I used the Layering Ovals Framelits Die to cut out the two oval labels.
The bottle and wine glass were stamped in StazOn and were colored with the Old Olive, Gorgeous Grape and Daffodil Delight watercolor pencils. The blender pens were used to blend the colors. I also put a thin coat of the Fine Tip Glue to make the wine in the glass shine. Note: let the fine tip glue dry completely before handling the card.
I only stamped 3 small wine glasses on the inside and colored them the same as the wine glass on the front of the card. The greeting and the sentiment on the inside are stamped in Night of Navy and are from the Thankful Thoughts Stamp Set.
Night of Navy – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″
Soft Sea Foam Layer – 4″ x 5 1/4″
Gorgeous Grape Layer – 3″ x 4 1/4″
Gold Foil Layer – 2 7/8″ x 4 1/8″
Whisper White Layer 2 3/4″ x 4″ and 4″ x 5 1/4″
I really like the way this card turned out and every time I use the Subtles Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, I like it more and more. Sometimes you just need a soft elegant background to bring out the beauty in a card, and I think the Subtles Embossing Folder does just that!
