Here’s a fun fold birthday card that any child would love to get on their birthday. This card was made using the Animal Outing Stamp Set, Animal Friends Thinlits Dies and the Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper. Children are drawn to animals, and I know they’ll love these. Even we adults love animals too.
This fun fold card was made with three different patterns from the Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper (DSP). It’s easy to mix and match patterns when they come from the same pack. Also, images on the DSP coordinate with the Animal Friends Thinlits Dies, so if you don’t want to stamp and color the images or if you’re in a hurry, you can cut them out from the designer series paper. Isn’t that the best! I love when you can cut images from the designer series paper. It saves time and you get to use more of your designer series paper instead of hoarding it.
That’s exactly what I did to cut out the rhino. Just cut around a rhino from the Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper, place the rhino thinly die around the him, run it through the Big Shot and you’re done. It’s quick, easy and simple! He’s a cutie for sure! Don’t you just love him?!?!?
I used the 2nd largest solid circle die from the Layering Circle Framelits Dies to cut the Whisper White circle, and the 2nd largest scalloped circle die to cut the Shaded Spruce circle. I sponged the white circle with lemon lime twist classic ink and adhered it with snail adhesive to the scalloped circle.
I used tear and tape on half of the shaded spruce scalloped circle and attached it to the middle fold. The reason for the stronger tape is, little hands would be opening it quite a bit, and I wanted it to stay secured. I popped up the rhino with stampin’ dimensionals.
I stamped the frog and branch on the top of the inside Whisper White panel with Tuxedo Memento Black Ink and colored them with Stampin’ Blends. The sentiment is from the Perennial Birthday Stamp Set and was stamped in Shaded Spruce Classic Ink.
Lemon Lime Twist for the base – 5 1/2″ x 11″ scored at 1 1/4″, 4″ and 6 3/4″
Animal Expedition Designer Paper for the Layers on 3 Panels – 1″ x 5 1/4″ (cut 2), 2 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ and 4″ x 5 1/4″
Whisper White Inside Layer – 2 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ and for the solid circle 3″ x 3″
Shaded Spruce for the scalloped circle – 3 1/4″ x 3 1/4″
I really had a lot of fun creating this card, and I have someone very special to give it too. My girlfriend’s youngest grandson is turning 4 next week, so he will be the lucky little guy to get this fun animal outing birthday card, and I know he’s going to love it.
