Being springtime, I thought it would be nice to have a cheerful yellow card to thank nature for all the perennials that are coming up. The sun has been shining everyday here in Massachusetts, and the weather has been warm the past couple of days. However, we do have some wet weather coming the next few days and that’s okay as long as it doesn’t stick around too long.
The designer series paper that I used on this card is from the Garden Impressions 6″x 6″ Designer Series Paper, and this pack of designer paper has lovely handprinted designs and textured patterns to brighten any card. I also embossed the So Saffron layer with the Subtles Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder which I think adds a hint of elegance to the card.
The greeting was stamped with Night of Navy Classic Ink on So Saffron cardstock; punched it out with the 1 3/4″ circle punch, and sponged the edges with Night of Navy classic Ink. I also used the 2″ circle punch to punch out a piece of Night of Navy cardstock. The Pearlized Dollies were enough to dress up the card. I did use one thing that wasn’t Stampi’ UP! on this cad and that is the blue sequins. I felt the card needed something to jazz it up a bit so I searched my stash of stuff, which we all have, and came up with these blue sequins that were just sitting around waiting to used. I think its the perfect touch for this card.
The inside is very simple with just a two word greeting and a few flowers off to the right. I wanted to leave room so that I could write a message on this card before I send it out. The sentiment and the flowers are from the Petal Palette stamp set and they too were stamped with Night of Navy Classic Ink.

I really enjoyed making this card and it was the first time I used the Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper. I had this pack of paper for quite a while and now that its spring, I decided to use it. I will be using it more often as it has some beautiful handprinted designs and rich textures. This is a card that can be used for any occasion i.e., Birthday, Thinking of You, Just Because, Just for You or just a plain Hello. Make a stack and have them on hand for when you need them.
