This is card #4 that we did in my class last weekend. Isn’t it beautiful? I chose non-traditional colors in Gorgeous Grape and Purple Posy. The reason for these non-traditional colors is they coordinate well with one of the pattern papers from the Feels Like Frost 6″ x 6″ Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP). This DSP is beyond beautiful. One side is winter patterns and the other side is white with silver foil. Both sides are so beautiful it’s hard to decide what side to use. Actually you get 4 double-sided sheets of each pattern so you can make beautiful cards with both sides.
The Frosted Foliage Stamp Set can be purchased alone but also has a coordination set of frames called Frosted Frames Dies. If purchased as a bundle, you will save 10%. These dies are not only beautiful, they also jazz up your card.
For this card, I cut the larger frame out with not only the Purple Posy but also with the Gorgeous Grape cardstock and layered it off center on top of each other so that both colors of the cardstock show through and adhered it to the front DSP layer. When adhering it to the front layer, only put your multipurpose liquid glue on just half of the frame. The reason for the multipurpose liquid glue is, where this card is a Z-fold and the frame is large, you would pulling on it to open the card, so I wanted it to stay secure. Actually, the multipurpose liquid glue is my go-to glue because it gives me wiggle room to move it and secure it in the right place before the glue dries. Whereas, I can’t do that with adhesive. However, you can use whatever type of adhesive you have on hand.
I added 3 silver sequins and after looking at the card for a while, I decided to add some of the Shimmery Crystal Effects and Ice Stampin’ Glitter and so glad that I did. It definitely is the WOW factor on this card! The sentiment was stamped with Gorgeous Grape Ink.
The inside of the card is very simple with just the sentiment from the Greatest Part of Christmas stamp set which is a hostess stamp. Because there is so much detail on the front of the card, I didn’t think it needed anything else stamped on the inside other than the sentiment,
As I mentioned, the Greatest Part of Christmas is a hostess set that anyone can earn as part of your rewards with a $150 personal or workshop order. The stamp set has 9 awesome sentiments for all your Christmas projects.
These colors may be non-traditional, but I think its a beautiful card for Christmas. and many people like receiving cards in various colors. People also decorate their homes for Christmas in non-traditional colors, so why not do the same with your Christmas cards. I’m very pleased with the way this card turned out and everyone in my class loved it too. Leave me a comment below to let me know what you think of this card.
