Happy Monday!  Just want to give you a glimpse of the Christmas cards I will be featuring this week.  We made these cards in my  class this past weekend and they were big hit.  If you remember, I featured the card with the skate on October 30th, so I will not repeat that one, but you can go back to my post from last Wednesday to review that card,

I am, however, featuring one of the other cards today and will feature another one on Wednesday and the last one on Friday, so be sure to stop by on those days too!

This was the simpler card we made which is all stamping.  I used the Peaceful Boughs stamp set which also has a coordinating die set called Beautiful Boughs which I didn’t use here but did  on one of the other cards.

For this card, I chose the Very Vanilla Thick cardstock and added a layer of Shaded Spruce with another layer of Very Vanilla for stamping.  I stamped the boughs with Shaded Spruce ink and the pine cones and the greeting were stamped with Soft Suede.  The dots around the edges were stamped with the Delicata Copper ink.  When using the Delicata ink which is a pigment ink, be sure to let it dry a bit or it will smear when you touch it,.

Since I used the thick cardstock, I can stamp right on the inside of the card without adding another layer.  With the thick cardstock, the stamping doesn’t show through the back of the cards.   Whenever I’m creating cards with whisper white or very vanilla for the card base, I always use the thick cardstock so I can stamp directly on the card which helps to save on paper.

I hope you like the cards we made in class and the one I’m featuring today.  I will feature the other two cards this week.

  • Very Vanilla Thick Cardstock for the base – 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″
  • Shaded Spruce Layer – 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • Very Vanilla Layer – 3 3/4″ x 5″

You can purchase the products used to create todays projects by clicking the product images below ↓  with the exception of the Delicata ink which Stampin’ Up! is no longer carrying.  For all other Stampin’ Up! products, click here and you will be taken to my online store where you can shop 24/7 from anywhere in the United States.  Thank you 🙂

Delicata Inks – As I mentioned above, Stampin Up! is no longer offering the Delicata Inks.  These metallic inks were popular when the holiday catalog launched and right now they are filling backorders. Stampin’ UP! had no intentions of carrying them over into the new catalog.  With that said, if  Stampin’ UP! were to reorder the inks now, they would not get them in and out to the customers before the holidays for their Christmas crafting, and the catalog is ending on January 2nd.  If there is still an interest in these inks, and it was not backordered for you, you can still get them at Amazon.
