It’s been a while since I posted and I won’t be posting as often as I was in the past because I need a reverse right shoulder replacement and its on hold until it’s safe to be in the hospital. It’s difficult to create with one arm, so I will do what I can, when I can and will post when I’m able.
Todays card represents what we are all going through with the Covid-19 virus. I sent out quite a few of these cards to family and friends letting them know I’m thinking of them and praying they all stay healthy and safe and the Stamparatus was a big help in getting these done. The situation we’re all going through right now is definitely not good and this giraffe is perfect for this card. The stamp set is “Back On Your Feet” and the other two stamps sets I used are: Positive Thoughts and Colorful Seasons.
I know it’s difficult to see in the picture, but the So Saffron layer was cut with the largest Stitched Rectangle Die and then embossed with the Subtle embossing folder. The strip of soft suede was embossed with the Hammered Metal embossing folder. You can also cut a strip of designer series paper from the neutrals pack for the strip on the left side, and that’s what I did with some of the cards. I used retired designer series paper and front eh 2019 neutrals pack. Both look very nice.
The giraffe was colored with stampin’ blends and of course, I added Wink of Stella.
The so saffron starburst circle was cut in half and attached to the soft suede strip. The Very Vanilla layer looked like it needed something more to bring out the card, so I adhered a piece of Braided Burlap Trim with multipurpose liquid glue. I didn’t wrap it around the layer. I just placed it on the top of the layer and trimmed it from the back so it would be even on each side. The Braided Burlap trim is too thick to wrap so cut a piece a little bit longer than what you need, run some multipurpose liquid glue across it, adhere it to the layer and then trim it. I added 3 So Saffron sequins that I had in my stash.
The sentiments and the image on the inside were also stamped with Soft Suede. If you notice, the giraffe is facing the opposite direction from the front image. Stamping a reverse image is fun and here’s how it’s done.
I stamped the giraffe image onto my Silicone Craft Mat with soft suede ink. I then flipped it over and placed the image where I wanted it on the card layer and pressed down on it so it would transfer onto the cardstock. That’s all there is to it. It simple, quick and fun to do. Give it a try!
I really like this card and so did the recipients of it as well. I got a lot of text message, emails and phone calls letting me know how much they liked the card and they all said, it was a nice surprise that put a smile on their face. So with that said, cards are a warm welcome and appreciated, so make someones day. It doesn’t have to be a special occasion like a birthday, anniversary etc., send a card just to let someone know you’re thinking of them. Stay healthy and SAFE!
